The Knox County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registry Enforcement Unit arrested a fugitive from justice Thursday afternoon in East Knox County.  Thirty year old Jason Shepherd fled from Kokomo, Indiana to Knoxville to avoid prosecution for obstruction of justice and two counts of failure to register as a sex offender.  A tip on the KCSO website (“Submit a Tip”) led investigators to Shepherd.

Shepherd was living in an apartment on Millertown Pike with a relative.  Officers stopped a car that he and a relative were in as they drove on Carpenter Road at Old Rutledge Pike around 4 p.m.
