Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett released the following statement after County Commission voted 9-2 to adopt the proposed FY2011-12 budget with only one change:
“I am thankful for commission’s support of this budget, and I look forward to working with commissioners in the coming year. Economic realities may be challenging, but Knox County’s future is bright and getting brighter.
“This budget sets Knox County’s course firmly in a new direction – the right direction, which will mean future economic growth and prosperity for our citizens.
I especially appreciate the Knox County finance team for the hard work they did in putting this budget together.”
